Upat least not at the moment.
For some reason many users of an Oculus Rift are reporting that, all of a sudden, the software that supports their VR goggles isn’t working anymore, rendering their VR-system unusable.
While Oculus is aware of the issue, having a note on their homepage that reads:
“We are aware of and actively investigating an issue impacting ability to access Rift software. Our teams apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you and appreciate your patience while we work on a resolution.”
no further information is available right now. We have reached to Oculus for more details and will update this article as soon as we hear from them.
UPDATE: According to a post from the developers in the Oculus Rift forum, the issue seems to be an expired software certificate, which was put in place to make sure any software used for the Rift was indeed coming from Oculus. A plain update won’t work, as this certificate issue blocks the normal update. The way this sounds, expect having to download the Oculus software all over again and maybe even reset you whole system.
Is your Oculus working? Isn’t it?
